Some veterans group led by a retired Major General (VoteVets.org), presumably a group that could be classified as being a bit more on the Conservative side than not, today had a thing I saw a couple of times on social media, both FaceBook and Twitter.
The gist of it is that they’ve finally twigged to the fact that the current Administration is bursting at the seams with people who are in bed with Putin and the Russians, including the National Security Advisor.
Here’s the funniest line of their meme:
“What did the President know, and when did he know it?”
Really, guys? REALLY?
Looking back at the news reports that were coming out this last summer, months and months before the election, I can find one news report after another that talks about Trump’s involvement with the Russians and Putin on a personal basis.
If VoteVets.org is taking bets on that question, I would like to put $100 down on “Trump knew everything, and he started the ball rolling on Day One.”
This fish rots from the head down – assume that Trump knew about it from the very beginning, when the Russians approached him with half a billion dollars in loans when the US banks wouldn’t loan him another dime.
Assume that the Russians were the ones funneling people like Flynn and Tillerson into the Trump camp to “help” his campaign.
Assume that Trump’s close advisers were in regular contact with Russian intelligence during his campaign and bet that there were at least a few of those contacts and phone calls that included Trump himself.
Start with those assumptions and you’ll start out a lot closer to the truth than not.
